Estonian accelerator Startup Wise Guys exited from Tallinn-based cyber tech firm TRAPMINE, which develops anti-malware solution. TRAPMINE was acquired by a US cybersecurity company. The buyer undisclosed.
Startup Wise Guys invested in TRAPMINE in 2017. According to the public information, other investors of TRAPMINE were co-founder of the Danish Nordic secondary fund Peter Sandberg and business angel from Denmark Lars Neupart.
In addition, TRAPMINE participated in Startup Wise Guys's SaaS program, which took place in Riga at the end of 2017. During the acceleration program, the startup received €20K.
Founded in 2017 by entrepreneurs from Turkey Celil Unuver and Yasin Surer, AI-powered TRAPMINE provides endpoint protection against malware, exploit attempts, file-less malware, ransomware, and other forms of targeted attacks. Instead of pre-defining and statically detecting attacks, the solution determines the techniques used by the attacks and blocks them. Trapmine's team also developed ThreatScore, a machine learning-powered malware detection engine, which can identify known and never-before-seen malware.
The company had three offices: in Tallinn, Riga, and Izmir (Turkey).
