Lithuanian Game Insight Group UAB being accused of deliberate bankruptcy of its Russian subsidiary
The arbitration manager of Game Insight, the bankruptcy trustee Denis Kachura accused Lithuanian game company Game Insight Group UAB of deliberate bankruptcy of its Russian subsidiary Game Insight LLC, whose beneficiaries are Igor Matsanyuk, Mikhail Vintschel and Grigory Finger.
According to Kachura, Game Insight LLC developed games for the Lithuanian structure and received funds from it. The Lithuanian company owned the trademarks and intellectual rights to the game studio, while the Russian company was engaged in custom development and had no rights to the games.
Game Insight Group UAB owes Game Insight LLC €1,4M. The Lithuanian company has not transferred the money, referring to sanctions towards Russia. The debt mainly consists of payroll debts, with a total amount of 125M rubles.
Kuchera sent a corresponding appeal to the prosecutor's office. Beneficiaries of the project may face criminal liability under several articles of the Russian Criminal Code. Kachura also commented that other persons controlling the Russian company may face subsidiary liability.
Investigating authorities intend to search for crime features, such as if Game Insight Group UAB and actual beneficiaries took out the assets of the Russian company, or if they intentionally "avoided paying the license fee and did not take steps to maintain the business in Russia. If the guilt is proven, the defendants in the case may face up to 7 years imprisonment.
Lithuanian Game Insight Group UAB was founded in Vilnius in 2009. It is owned by the company Cyprus Game Insight Holdings Limited and Sergey Avetikov.
