Baltic accelerator Startup Wise Guys invested over €82K in agritech FreshSens

Baltic accelerator Startup Wise Guys invested over €82K (TL1,7M) in Turkish agricultural technology startup FreshSens. The investment was given within the sustainability acceleration program that started in Copenhagen (Denmark) in October 2022. The deal was closed in February 2023.

Freshsens develops technology that extends the storage life of products, such as fruits and vegetables, mushrooms, and cut flowers. It predicts their shelf life and prevents losses in food. The startup uses artificial intelligence and internet of things technologies.

Freshsens will use the investment for operational costs, marketing, and sales. Also, it plans to increase the number of products. With the help of this technology, currently, it is possible to extend the storage life of cherries and pomegranates. According to the company in the coming days, it will be possible to predict the shelf life of asparagus, blueberries, and figs.

The company was founded in Tallinn in 2019 by Baran Baykut Emiroğlu, Vehbi Çağrı Güngör, and Cem Ayyıldız. Its operational office is in Ankara (Turkey).

Launched in 2012, Estonian Startup Wise Guys is an accelerator that invests in early-stage startups from Central European, Baltic, and African regions. The company exposes startups to business angels and VCs during its acceleration program.
