Latvian accelerator Buildit invested €100K in two Baltic startups

Latvian hardware & IoT startup accelerator Buildit invested €50K in Latvian developer of submarine drones for water quality monitoring SUBmerge Baltic and €50K in Tallinn-based developer of AI solutions for water quality monitoring applications Waterson Technologies.

SUBmerge Baltic solution allows evaluation of the water quality, underwater exploration, or conducting scientific research. It is able to access hard-to-reach areas and increase safety for human operators. The company’s remote operating vehicle (ROV) provides a high-definition live video feed, allowing users to explore and monitor the aquatic environment in real time. The company was founded in Riga in 2022.

Waterson Technologies focuses on developing real-time, fully automated, AI-empowered monitoring and early warning software designed to examine microbiological water quality. Real-time measurements occur every minute, as opposed to manual sampling and laboratory analysis, which can take up to 16 hours for results. Waterson Technologies uses sensor data on the measured temperature, pH level, electrical conductivity, turbidity, and redox potential. Based on these measurements at a specific place and time, biological pollution of water is predicted.

The startup was founded in Tallinn in 2022 by Latvian entrepreneur Davids Stebelis. In 2022 the startup received €185K from Sweden accelerator Techstars and European investment fund EIT Digital.

Buildit is a Nordic hardware & IoT startup accelerator. It provides €10K to €50K of pre-seed investments best-performing startups and up to €250K of seed investments.
