Plural raised a €400M fund

Plural, founded by Estonian entrepreneurs Sten Tamkivi and Taavet Hinrikus, raised a new €400M fund from the US and European institutions and family funds. Plural will continue to back European early-stage startups and invest in AI, frontier, consumer, climate, and energy-focused tech companies. 

According to Plural, it is still investing from its first €250M fund, which it raised in 2022. The fund has made 26 investments across six countries, including Denmark, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, and the US. 

Founded in 2022 by Sten Tamkivi, Taavet Hinrikus, Ian Hogarth, and Khaled Helioui, Plural focuses on leading early-stage rounds between €1 and €10M. In 2023, a new partner, AI-driven biotech HelixNano founder, and VC investor Carina Namih joined Plural. Among the latest investments of the fund are Danish healthtech Teton, US asset-backed secured credit card Pesto, Dutch nanoparticle generator VSParticle, which can split materials at the atomic level in just a few minutes, London-based carbon removal registry Isometric, a British AI-powered tool for detecting harmful online content Unitary, British legal tech Robin AI, UK-based biotech Sano Genetics.

Lithuanian Tech Zity Vilnius raises €37M
