Electric vehicle charging solution VOOL raises €300K

Tallinn-based electric vehicle charging solution VOOL has raised €300K from Estonian energy company Alexela.

Founded in Tallinn in 2018 by Juhan Härm (CEO), Sander Vahtras (CPO), and Hindrik Kilter (CTO), VOOL's solution comprises the charger, a hub, a B2C application, a web platform, and a B2B admin portal. The technology allows to switch loads between phases using dynamic hardware without creating overloads. The software tracks the electricity prices and ensures that the electric vehicle is charged at the lowest cost. Vool's charger can be used in apartment buildings.

VOOL operates in all Baltic countries, Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, and employs 44 people. Thanks to the deal between Vool and Alexela, the companies will start to offer users complete solutions for both private houses and apartment buildings.

Founded in Tallinn, Alexela mainly operates in the energy sector. Alexela develops a network of service stations by creating biomethane, LNG (liquid natural gas), electricity, and, soon, hydrogen filling-up facilities. Alexela offers its customers electricity, natural gas, cylinder, and tank gas, as well as motor fuels.

Over the past three years, the company has created a public charging network and offers private solutions of up to 22 kW for homes and businesses. In total, Alexela already operates more than 600 charging nozzles. The charging solutions can be both rented and purchased. Alexela Group employs more than 1000 people.
