Fintech company Wise plans to move its listing to New York Stock Exchange
The fintech company Wise, founded by Estonians Kristo Käärmann and Taavet Hinrikus, has decided to transfer the main listing of its shares to the New York Stock Exchange. The company has been listed on the London Stock Exchange since 2021. According to the plans, Wise shares will be listed on two exchanges.
According to Wise CEO Kristo Käärmann, such a double listing will increase the company's awareness and expand the circle of its investors. Now the plans will be put to the vote of the shareholders, whose meeting will be held in the coming weeks.
Wise (formerly known as TransferWise) is an international payment system that was founded in 2014 by Estonians Kristo Karman and Taavet Hinrikus. The company's headquarters are located in London, United Kingdom. In 2021, Wise entered the London Stock Exchange with a valuation of 8.75 billion pounds, making it the largest British technology startup.
