Lithuanian InSoil launch €100M partnership with Key Carbon

Climate finance company InSoil has signed a €100M partnership agreement with Canadian investment firm Key Carbon. With the new investment, InSoil plans to expand its international carbon farming program to 1M hectares by the end of 2026.

Through the partnership, Key Carbon has the right to invest over €100M into InSoil’s zero-interest Green Loans.

InSoil (formerly HeavyFinance) is a Lithuanian environmental technology investment company. Through its agricultural finance platform, InSoil has already disbursed more than 3K loans totaling more than €80M. The company was founded in 2020 in Vilnius, Lithuania by Laimonas Noreika, Darius Verseckas, Andrius Liukaitis. The firm has offices in Bulgaria, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal and Ukraine.

Key Carbon is a company that invests in a global portfolio of carbon-generating projects, generating revenues and royalties from initiatives in areas such as regenerative agriculture and the distribution of clean cookstoves. Key Carbon is founded in Canada in 2021 under the name Carbon Neutral Royalty. It was renamed Key Carbon in 2023. CEO of Key Carbon - Luke Leslie.
