Estonian Datel cooperates with ESA to develop elevation models
Estonian technology company Datel has signed a contract with the European Space Agency (ESA) to develop elevation models based on space radar remote sensing data. The aim of the project is to create accurate and up-to-date digital elevation models that can be used in a wide range of applications, from environmental monitoring to infrastructure planning.
The scientific partner of the project will be the Estonian University of Life Sciences, which will carry out drone measurements to confirm the accuracy of the radar terrain models.
Datel is an information technology services company. It was founded in 1990 and is based in Tallinn. The company's projects include the development of a new National Register of Place Names for the Estonian Land and Spatial Development Authority, land subsidence monitoring, and big data analysis and modeling.
