Estonian MuRayTech closes first round of investment
Estonian startup MuRayTech has raised capital in its first round of investment, led by venture capital fund Nordic Science Investments. Peaksjah from Estonia and a Swiss investor with experience at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) also participated in the investment.
MuRayTech is developing technology based on laser plasma accelerators, which are used to create artificial muon radiation. This radiation enables safe but effective X-ray imaging, which, according to the company, opens up new opportunities for quality control in both industry and medicine. The company was founded in June 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia. The MuRayTech's founders are Andi Hector and Kristjan Poder.
Nordic Science Investments (NSI) is a venture capital fund from Finland whose goal is to invest in spin-out projects and help universities commercialize their academic projects. It was founded in 2023 by Alexandra Gilfe, Anssi Uimonen, Jari Strandman, and Matti Hautsalo.
Peaksjah is a software development company founded in Tallinn, Estonia, in 2006.
