Estonian SafePAS receives €2.5M from EIS

Estonian deep tech company SafePAS has received a €2.5M grant from the Enterprise and Innovation Fund (EIS) to further develop its DrugHunter rapid drug test. The grant was awarded on the basis of the European Innovation Council's (EIC) Seal of Excellence.

SafePAS develops handheld devices that provide on-site analytical results at a lower cost than traditional laboratory tests. Among the company's main products are Drug Hunter, which enables rapid drug detection, and SMAGRY, which analyzes nutrient levels in soil. The company was founded in Estonia in 2021. Founders: Jekaterina Mazina-Šinkar, Jelena Gorbatšova, Evelin Halling.

Thanks to the new grant, the company will be able to develop a smaller version of the analyzer and accelerate the introduction of the test in the police force, among road safety partners, and organizers of large events.

In May 2025 SafePAS raised a first round of investment of €700K from BSV Ventures, Securetec Detektions-Systeme AG, EstBAN, PurposeTech, Beamline and Lanmer.
