Latvian AI startup Desktop Commander raises €1.1M

Latvian AI startup Desktop Commander has raised €1.1M in pre-seed round from BADideas. Fund and 42CAP. 

Desktop Commander has developed an open solution called Desktop Commander MCP for the contextual protocol. It is designed to make programming and automation more accessible to people without technical knowledge. Desktop Commander MCP provides artificial intelligence with direct access to the user's computer and file system, allowing for easy file management, writing, viewing, and code placement. The company was founded in Riga, Latvia, in 2025.

BADideas.fund is a Latvian fund, launched in April 2022. It focuses on pre-seed and seed-stage startups from Baltics and CEE region. The typical ticket size is €100K. The fund has more than 40 business angels, founders, executives, and employees of Bolt, Vimeo, Printify, PandaDoc, Pipedrive, and others.

42CAP invests in early-stage technology companies across Europe with global ambitions. The venture capital fund was founded in 2016 in Munich, Germany.
