Estonian-founded Starship Technologies cooperates with Uber

Starship Technologies, a developer of autonomous delivery vehicles, has announced the start of cooperation with Uber. At first, Starship robots will serve the Uber Eats food delivery service in the UK, and next year and in 2027 in several European countries and in the USA.

Founded in 2014 by Skype co-founders Ahti Heinla and Janus Friis, Starship Technologies is the autonomous delivery company. According to the company, Starship has completed more than 9 million autonomous deliveries—five times more than all of its competitors in the US combined—covering a distance of more than 12 million miles. The company's American partners include Grubhub, while its European partners include Bolt, Wolt from DoorDash, and Foodora from Delivery Hero. Starship’s business headquarters are in San Francisco. 

Uber (Uber Technologies Inc.) is an American international public company based in San Francisco, which has created a digital intermediary platform for finding, calling and paying for taxis or private drivers, as well as food delivery. The Uber Eats food delivery service operates in 10K cities around the world.
