Estonian company Skeleton Technologies opens €220M factory in Germany
Tallinn-based Skeleton Technologies has opened a factory in Leipzig, Germany, to manufacture supercapacitors. The €220M facility is Estonia's largest industrial investment in Germany in recent years.
According to Skeleton, the Leipzig plant will create 420 jobs in Saxony and is designed for an annual production volume of up to 12 million cells.
Skeleton Technologies is a company that develops and manufactures innovative supercapacitors and batteries for use in critical industries across Europe. The company has developed the carbon nanomaterial Curved Graphene to produce its supercapacitors. It provides them with power and energy density. Skeleton Technologies was founded in Tallinn in 2009 by Taavi Madiberk and Oliver Ahlberg.
The company's customers are Siemens, General Electric, Shell, and major automobile and heavy electric machinery manufacturers, mainly in Europe and the United States.
