London-based platform Zilch acquires Lithuanian Fjord Bank

London-based consumer payment platform Zilch acquires a 100% stake in Lithuanian Fjord Bank and makes Vilnius its European headquarters. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026.

This is an exit for Opera, which acquired a 9.9% stake in Fjord Bank in 2020.

Fjord Bank is a specialized bank that provides digital banking services. It was founded in March 2017 by Norwegian and Swedish investors Svein Ovrebo, Joakim Mandorsson and Stig R. Myrseth. Fjord Bank is headquartered in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Zilch is a British fintech company headquartered in London. It was founded in 2018. The Zilch platform operates in the Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) sector and offers a consumer-oriented payment solution. Customers can split their online purchases into four interest-free payments over a six-week period. 

Opera is a Norwegian multinational technology corporation. The headquarters is located in Oslo (Norway). Opera offers a range of products and services, including web browsers for PCs and mobile devices, game portals, the Opera Ads platform, as well as Web3 and e-commerce products and services.
