Estonian Icebreaker.vc exits from Vespia

 

Estonian company Icebreaker.vc has exited its portfolio company Vespia, which has been acquired by Veriff. As part of the deal, the Vespia team will join Veriff.

Vespia is an Estonian startup in the KYB (Know-Your-Business) field. The platform developed by Vespia helps companies automate business verification and AML compliance. The company was founded on July 28, 2020. Founders: Julia Ront and Anton Vedešin.

Founded in Tallinn in 2015, Veriff is an online identity verification unicorn that protects businesses and their customers from online identity fraud. The company has offices in the US, UK, Estonia, and Spain. In the spring of 2025, Veriff opened an office in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This is due to the increase in the company's business volume in Latin America in 2024, which grew 2.5 times. The founder and CEO of Veriff is Kaarel Kotkas.

Icebreaker.vc is a venture capital firm that invests in innovative startups, including those in the fields of software, hardware, and deep tech. The company's mission is to support and empower entrepreneurs who create innovative solutions to pressing global issues. Its portfolio includes companies such as Valpas, Lumoa, Workfellow, and Oterlu. Founded in Helsinki in 2016 by Riku Seppälä, Lasse Lehtinen, Aleksi Partanen.
