Latvian robotics startup Aerones has raised $39M from unnamed investors

Latvian Aerones, which develops robots to provide maintenance services for blades and towers of wind turbines, has raised $39M from several investors. Their names are not announced. The money will be used for the global scaling of robotic technology. It aims to raise $2,5M more in the future.

Aerones was launched in Latvia in 2015. It has offices in Riga and San Jose. Aerones robots perform maintenance services, for example, inspecting, painting, reparation, and cleaning towers and blades of wind turbines. Currently, Aerones' robots have cleaned turbines in 19 countries.

In April the company secured $9M from Estonian venture company Change Ventures, Latvian fund Capitalia, Vinted co-founder Mantas Mikuckas, Printify CEO James Berdigans, and Skype co-founder Jaan Tallinn and other investors.
