Estonian-based fintech Pointship secured new funding from StartupWiseGuys
Estonian-based fintech Pointship secured new funding from Estonian accelerator StartupWiseGuys. The amount of the funding is undisclosed.
Pointship was established in Tallinn in 2020 by Turkish entrepreneurs Egemen Çakmak, Merter Unsal, and Petter Jartby.
The startup created a digital asset marketplace where unused rewards and benefits (miles, points, game credits, event tickets) are collected, stored, and later traded between users. The digital assets can be converted into Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and exchanged with tokens.
The investment will be used for the development of its application and company expansion in new markets such as Europe, South America, and the Middle East.
It has participated in the Romanian acceleration program for fintech companies, organized by StartupWiseGuys. The program ran in Bucharest from July to December 2022. The follow-on investment into startups is €250K.
Launched in 2012, Estonian Startup Wise Guys is an accelerator that invests in early-stage startups from Central European and Nordic regions. The accelerator has invested in more than 300 startups and had 13 exits.
