Vilnius-based Contrarian VC invests in Norwegian SaaS climate tech platform Chooose

Vilnius-based venture fund Contrarian VC, which focuses on investment in climate tech companies, backs the Norwegian SaaS climate platform Chooose.

A $15M round of investment was co-led by GenZero (owned by Singapore-headquartered investment company Temasek), Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary founded investment company SOUNDWavs, existing investors  Netherlands Shell Ventures, and Boston-based Vinyl Capital. German Amadeus IT GroupeX also participated in this round.

The startup is a SaaS platform enabling tracking and reducing emissions.  It helps its clients build climate companies, run automated CO2 emission calculations, and be connected to marketplaces of carbon solutions. The new capital will allow it to broaden the portfolio of existing carbon solutions that are supported on the platform, which currently includes Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), carbon removals, and verified offsets.

Chooose was launched in Norway in 2017. It works with airlines Air Canada, British Airways, and Iberia, travel companies Booking.com, Trip.com, travel management software and solutions SAP Concur and others.

Contrarian VC was established in Vilnius in 2017. Currently, it has offices in Berlin and London. Contrarian Ventures is a seed-stage venture company focused on investment in climate startups from Europe and Israel.
