Estonian venture fund Trind vc invested in German marketplace SACLÀB

Estonian venture fund Trind vc and G-Fund invested €1,6M in German marketplace of luxury designer bags SACLÀB.

The startup will use the new financing for marketing, HR, and tech infrastructure. This year, the founders plan to launch the business in the US and create an online storefront. They will also improve the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) on the website to be able to sell and buy items faster.

The marketplace helps sell and buy designer handbags by Hermès, Chanel, Dior, and more. Before reselling each item, the company's consultant inspects them, checking that they are genuine, assesses their condition, and assigns a grade accordingly, for example, a 4-5 grade means that the bag has visible signs of use, and it can be sent to a restoration laboratory. The customer can book virtual advisory appointments with bag experts or use a live chat to get support.

Based in Munich, SACLÀB was founded by Alexandra and Jan-Oliver Stueck in 2018. The company has offices in Amsterdam and Munich.

Trind Ventures is an early-stage venture company established by Joel Aasmäe, Ivar Siimar, Kimmo Irpola, and Taavi Lepmets in 1999. In September 2022 the company closed Fund II with a capital of €55M. It aimed to invest in 30–40 startups in four years. Fund II has already invested in Barcelona-based event management software Xceed, Estonian platform for buying and selling second-hand fashion goods Yaga, and Spanish home services marketplace Webel.
