HR marketplace for healthcare professionals Scrubin has raised investment in a pre-seed round

Estonian HR platform for medical workers Scrubin raised investment in a pre-seed round in 2023. The amount of the investment is undisclosed. Among the investors were Kristel Kruustük (the founder of Estonian software testing platform Testlio), Markus Villig (the founder of Estonian transport company Bolt) and some angel investors, who were early employees of Wise and Skype.

Founded in Tallinn in 2022 by Tarmo Korela, Tauno Otti, and Marge Maidla, Scrubin is an AI-powered two-way marketplace for healthcare professionals, hospitals, pharmacies, and medical institutions that helps hospitals recruit employees. Besides recruiting, the platform provides analytics on what hospitals and healthcare professionals are looking for and allows employers to leave an anonymous review.

On the one hand, the startup helps hospitals understand what their employees lack, on the other hand, employees can provide information (anonymous reviews) about what is good and what is bad in different departments. This feedback can then be analyzed to determine which clinic or hospital an employee should join. AI helps hospitals to cut costs of hiring personnel by up to 20 times.

Hospitals pay Scrubin for recruitment and staff analytics, which helps them understand why people are leaving. However, Scrubin is free for doctors to use. 3,2K doctors and 120 healthcare organizations have joined the platform.

The company operates mainly in Estonia, but has started to expand into the UK market and has clients there. In 2024, Scrubin plans to raise a seed round of investment for further expansion.

Markus Villig is an Estonian billionaire, who in 2013 founded Bolt, a transportation company that offers ride-hailing services, shared cars and scooters, and food and grocery delivery in Tallinn.

Kristel Kruustük is the co-founder of the Estonian software testing platform Testlio, and an investor in companies with female founders.
