Lithuanian edtech Three Cubes raised €250K from Firstpick and other investors
Lithuanian game-based learning subscription platform for schools and parents Three Cubes has raised €250K from Lithuanian accelerator Firstpick and other investors. The deal was closed at the beginning of 2023.
Three Cubes uses Minecraft: Education Edition to create content, that is integrated into the schools’ curriculum. According to the company, the lessons help develop not only knowledge but, also soft skills. The target group is 2 -12 grade students. It has formal lesson packs on different curriculum subjects and informal lesson packs on climate change, carbon monoxide, and more. The formal course "First Humans on Mars" can be used to improve knowledge of mathematics, biology, chemistry, geography, and astronomy. Three Cubes has partnered with 300 schools and involved more than 30K students.
Three Cubes was founded in Vilnius in 2017 by Darius Kniūkšta and Tadas Bielskis. It works in Baltic countries, UK and US. The startup has recently completed Firstpick’s first acceleration program, which was launched in November 2022.
Venture capital firm Firstpick was launched by an ex-Lithuanian team of Estonian accelerator StartupWiseGuys. It supports early-aged startups from Baltic countries. Firstpick aims to support 45 startups over the coming three years. In its pre-accelerator, it offers to give €20K in grants per team, and from €50K to €100K within the acceleration program.
