Latvian AI staff planning tool Aimy raised €250K from Swedish fund Vntrs
Latvian AI-powered staff planning tool Aimy, which optimizes the amount of staff, raised €250K from Swedish venture studio Vntrs.
Aimy is a system that optimizes staffing based on statistics and data. Using historical data, for example, from holiday seasons, the startup's tool predicts how to get better results next holiday. With the tool, retailers can plan staffing up to 15 months ahead. Aimy will use the investment to continue growing in the region and build up a technology competence center in Riga.
Aimy was founded in Norway by Sander Ripman Seim in 2018, but now it is based in Riga. It has received the support of the Latvian startup association Startin.LV, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, Innovation Norway, and Latvian Business Angel Network to establish the business in Riga. The startup works with 90 shops across Northern Europe.
Vntrs was founded in Stockholm in 2016. It has an office in Tallinn, and it plans to open a new one in Riga. Partner & CEO at Vntrs is Kristaps Prūsis. Vntrs has invested in over 30 startups across the Nordic and Baltic regions, and Aimy is Vntrs' first investment in Latvia. It has a seed investment fund Veq for follow-up investments of €500K per startup.
