Co-founder of Wise Taavet Hinrikus invested in the 6th fund of London-based VC Seedcamp

Co-founder of money transfer service Wise Taavet Hinrikus invested in the sixth fund of London-based venture company Seedcamp. Seedcamp raised $180M for its new fund from over 200 institutions, business angels, and members of the Seedcamp Network. The venture capital firm will invest up to $1M in angel and seed rounds. The main focus will be on AI, cybersecurity, open source software, healthtech, fintech, and others.

Taavet Hinrikus is an existing LP of Seedcamp. He participated in the closing of Fund V in 2020. Besides, the company of Taavet Hinrikus was backed by Seedcamp in 2014 and 2015.

Wise (ex-Transferwise) is a money transfer service allowing private individuals and businesses to send money abroad. The company holds 50 currencies. Wise was founded in 2011 by Taavet Hinrikus and Kristo Käärmann. It is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Seedcamp is a European seed fund. It has invested in 460 startups, including European unicorns, such as UK event platform provider that connects communities through virtual, hybrid, and in-person events Hopin, Estonian Wise, UK financial services company Revolut, Paris-based global fantasy football game where players can buy, trade, and play with official digital cards Sorare, and others.
