Omniva acquired Estonian smart mailbox network Parcelsea

Estonian transportation company Omniva acquired 700 smart mailboxes of Estonian company Parcelsea, and also its service rights in the Baltic countries.

Parcelsea is a personal smart mailbox for private and business customers. It allows them to leave parcels of different sizes in the metal box and "send" them on the way with the help of couriers. The courier gets a notification to collect the parcel, unlocks the smart box, and delivers it to the recipient. The customer can order groceries and parcels online and collect them in their boxes without the need to contact the courier. The customer and courier can unlock the mailbox without any application.

Parcelsea also provides subscribed customers with laundry services. In the future, it plans to offer more services to smart mailbox owners. Earlier, Parcelsea acquired Estonian Cleveron’s network of private parcel machines, which increased Parcelsea’s network of smart mailboxes to more than 1000 mailboxes in Estonia. Parcelsea was founded in Tallinn in 2020 by Andres Sampka and Tanel Raun.

After this purchase, Omniva will start offering its customers smart mailbox rental services in July 2023. Besides, the smart mailboxes would be serviced by all courier companies operating in Estonia. Omniva plans to offer smart mailbox service all over Estonia, including in sparsely populated rural areas.

Omniva is a transportation company that provides warehousing, supply chain management, and freight forwarding services globally. Omniva offers home delivery of parcels in Estonia, to a post office, or a parcel machine. The Omniva Group consists of Eesti Post as the parent company and Estonian Finbite, Lithuanian Omniva, and Latvian Omniva as subsidiaries. Eesti Post is 100% owned by the Estonian state.
