Estonian mobility unicorn Bolt signed a €126M leasing framework agreement to expand car-sharing services

Estonian mobility company Bolt signed a €126M leasing framework agreement with banks Swedbank and Luminor to expand Bolt Drive car-sharing services to more cities in the Baltic region. Swedbank, which operates in Sweden and Baltic countries, will provide €80M, and Luminor (operates in Baltic countries) - €46,2M.

Bolt Drive started its work in Estonia in 2021. Back then, Bolt invested €20M in Bolt Drive. Bolt Drive is a car-sharing service that lets riders rent a car for a short period through the Bolt application. It operates in Tallinn, Riga, Jurmala, Vilnius, Kaunas, Berlin and Lyon. 

Bolt was founded in Tallinn in 2013 by Markus Villig. Later Martin Villig and Oliver Leisalu joined the company. Bolt offers ride-hailing services, shared cars and scooters, and food and grocery delivery. It has 100M customers in 45 countries across Europe and Africa.
