Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation launches €15M call for startups from Vilnius
Lithuanian Ministry of Economy and Innovation launches €15M call for startups and spinoffs from Vilnius within the state program of encouraging businesses to digitize. The young projects, which develop solutions and products in artificial intelligence, blockchain technology, and robotics process automation, can receive up to €102K. The program of encouraging businesses to digitize is implemented under the Next Generation Lithuania plan, funded by the EU's Economic Recovery and Resilience Facility.
The Ministry of Economy and Innovation believes that the startup ecosystem is one of the engines of the economy. The goal is to at least triple the size of Lithuania's startup ecosystem in the coming years. The call will allow startups to develop solutions that can bring practical benefits to both businesses and citizens. Among them are various artificial intelligence solutions, including data analytics solutions which can lead to more effective medical diagnostics, smoother traffic management, and others.
This call is one of the measures of the nearly €1 bln package to strengthen the Lithuanian economy. By the end of 2023, around €365M will be allocated for business, innovation, and investment, €320M - for digitalization of the state and business, and €268M - for green economy.
