SuperAngel invested in Danish autonomous mobile robots Coalescent Mobile Robotics
Estonian fund SuperAngel invested in Danish autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for the retail industry Coalescent Mobile Robotics. SuperAngel and EIFO (The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark) led the seed round of investment. The amount of the deal is undisclosed.
Coalescent Mobile Robotics was founded in 2018 by Clionadh Martin. The startup develops and sells AMRs to help retailers to move goods inside the stores. The robots can be adapted to the store's needs and integrate with existing infrastructure. Coalescent Mobile Robotics creates a map of the store, on which it evaluates and defines pick-up and drop-off locations for different workflows. AMRs can navigate autonomously in the aisles of the store. Coalescent Mobile Robotics’ customers include retailers from Denmark, such as Salling Group and its store chain Bilka.
The company will use the investment for developing the technology and launching the next version of AMRs with more capabilities and features this year. The startup targets expanding into the UK, France along with other European markets.
Superangel VC was founded in 2018 in Tallinn. The founding partners are Veljo Otsason and Rain Rannu. The fund focuses on early-stage investment in the Baltics and Nordics. SuperAngel already has robotic startups in its portfolio, such as Estonian provider of autonomous delivery services Starship Technologies and Netherlands-based Rocsys (autonomous charging solutions, based on soft-robotics technologies, a suite of remote management and support tools, and an API integration platform).
