Estonian cleantech Enzum secured $120K from US-based accelerator Techstars

Estonia AI-powered grid optimisation solution Enzum secured $120K from US-based accelerator Techstars.

Founded in Tallinn in 2023 by Mary Boryslawska and Ana Gerlich, Enzum's solution helps amplify predictions of grid energy consumption, reduce overproduction, and minimize wastage.

The startup's team collects data from energy consumption patterns in the energy companies, weather conditions, grid infrastructure, and historical energy production. And machine learning models help develop predictive algorithms, providing accurate forecasts and optimization recommendations. As a result, the team offers the companies customized optimization strategies to reduce overproduction, minimize wastage, and optimize energy distribution. These strategies help them understand how to strategically shift from carbon-intensive energy sources to renewable alternatives.

Enzum works in the Eastern European market. The startup joined Techstars acceleration program Shaping the Future with Deep Tech, which took place in Berlin. The program started on October 9 and will last long during three months. The accelerator usually gives investment in two parts - $20K as venture investments and $100K as convertible notes. Apart from investment, the participants receive mentorship, resources, and valuable networks. The finalists were selected out of more than 4K companies.
