Estonian Trind Ventures invested in a Finnish platform for brands and influencers Boksi.com
Estonian Trind Ventures invested in Helsinki-based marketing and content creation platform Boksi.com. The €7M round was led by Viena-based VC 3TS Capital Partners and Finnish investment firm Nexit Ventures.
Finnish Aikainen Ventures, a government organization for innovation funding Business Finland, and several business angels also participated in this A round. Boksi started to raise the investment in late 2022, and now it officially announced about closing of the round.
Founded in Helsinki in 2018 by Lasse Laaksonen, Linus Lindgård, Dan Lindholm, and Tomer Atzmon, Boksi has developed an online platform for influencer marketing and content creation. The platform connects content makers and influencers with the brands to conduct marketing campaigns. As a result, brands can use provided by creators content, photos, and videos in advertisements for social networks, newsletters, external banners, etc. Boksi also provides services for handling payments, reporting, and analytics in one platform. The company has more than 15K creators and more than 1,5K brand professionals.
Boksi intends to use the investments to expand into the Central European market, with a further focus on Germany and the DACH region. The startup has just finished the acquisition of Finnish influencer marketing agency Monochrome Oy. In the future, it plans to acquire more companies in Germany to accelerate expansion in this region.
Trind Ventures is an early-stage venture fund with an initial ticket of €0,1M-€1M, and follow-on investments up to €5M per company. The partners are Joel Aasmäe, Ivar Siimar, Kimmo Irpola, Taavi Lepmets, and Reima Linnanvirta. In September 2022, the company closed Fund II at €55M. It aimed to invest in 30–40 startups in four years. Fund II has already invested in Xceed, Yaga, SACLÀB, Royalty Range, Mjuk, and Webel, and exited from German startup Chatchamp. Trind Ventures backed Boksi in 2019 and 2020.
