Estonian Trind Ventures invested in Helsinki-based AI meeting assistant Wudpecker

Estonian investment firm Trind Ventures led the €330K pre-seed round of AI meeting assistant Wudpecker. Danish VC Accelerace and Finnish Sofokus Ventures joined the round.

Founded in Helsinki in 2022 by Ankur Dahama, Joona Jokivuori, and Hai Ta, Wudpecker designed an AI tool for extracting meaningful information from notes, files, emails, and online meetings, using simple and intuitive prompts. The tool collects data from various platforms into a singular space, where critical information is stored, easily discovered, and exploited. For instance, the tool can record and transcribe automatically Zoom, Google Meet, and Teams meetings. Also, an employee can share the meeting summary in Hubspot, Salesforce, Notion, Docs, and Slack with his colleague.

Wudpecker will use the investment to continue building its product. The enhanced tool will allow users to extract information across all digital corporate sources – from online meetings to emails and internal communication platforms.

Trind Ventures is an early-stage venture fund with an initial ticket of €0,1M-€1M, and follow-on investments up to €5M per company. The partners are Joel Aasmäe, Ivar Siimar, Kimmo Irpola, Taavi Lepmets, and Reima Linnanvirta. In September 2022, the company closed Fund II at €55M. It aimed to invest in 30–40 startups in four years. Fund II has already invested in Xceed, Yaga, SACLÀB, Royalty Range, Mjuk, Webel, Boksi, and Your.Rentals, and exited from German startup Chatchamp.
