Estonian healthtech startup Nora AI raised €65K

Estonian AI-powered drug development platform Nora AI raised €65K from Arti Kütt (the CEO and ex-major shareholder of Estonian parcel locker and robotic solutions development and sales company Cleveron), Triin Hertmann (Estonian business angel and co-founder of the investment platform Grünfin), Liina Joller-Vahter (entrepreneur and the researcher at the Tartu University), Tarmo Renter (Estonian business angel and founder of software company Avalanche Laboratory). An angel investor from Berlin Darya Kamkalova and other investors joined this round.

Founded in Tallinn in 2023 by Carmen Kivisild and Karl-Oskar Masing, the startup created a platform for faster drug development. One of main Nora AI's features is the automation of biomedical researchers' routine tasks, such as summarizing relevant scientific information, adding new information from scientists, and analyzing research data or omics data (information about biological molecules, proteins, metabolites, etc). Then, the collected data is proven and used when comparing the solutions presented in the scientific literature with existing ideas. In addition, the platform can present this data coherently and factually, and, as a result, recommend new drug candidates. It can save scientists and companies hours and reduce the costs needed for conducting clinical research.

Nora AI plans to give a license of the platform to universities, research institutions, other startups, and pharmaceutical companies to allow them to discover new drugs. The startup's solution could be used to find treatments for all sorts of different diseases and could be used as a research assistant for scientists, who conduct fundamental research.
