Estonian SaaS platform for food producers Inspectle Food raised €400K

Estonian automated food hygiene inspection platform Inspectle Food raised €400K in a pre-seed round. Estonian Change Ventures was the lead investor. Lithuanian accelerator and venture capital firm Firstpick and Berlin-based Heartfelt_ (previously APX, backed by German media and technology company Axel Springer and carmaker Porsche) also joined the round.

Founded in Tallinn in 2022 by Kaspar Mooses, Oliver Pappel, and Sander Meister, Inspectle Food is a platform that allows food producers to run hygiene inspections more efficiently. For instance, they can solve non-compliance with food safety and quality regulations faster, and that streamlines the process of pulling potentially dangerous foods off the production line. The food producers can upload over 100 non-conformities during the inspection and send the information (photos, location, etc.) to the responsible people. In addition, the quality team can automatically generate reports on the Inspectle Food platform and track the inspected areas and the status of all non-compliances in one place.

The startup will use the investment to expand across Europe and the US. Currently, among its clients are food and beverage manufacturers Lallemand from the US and Saarioinen from Finland.

In September 2023, the startup joined Firstpick’s third acceleration program and received investment worth €50K to €100K.

Established by an ex-Lithuanian team of Estonian accelerator StartupWiseGuys, a VC and an accelerator Firstpick aims to support 45 startups over the coming three years. Its fund size is €20M.
