Ex-Google CEO Eric Schmidt established drone startup Volya Robotics in Estonia

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt registered a drone startup Volya Robotics in Tallinn in September 2023. Schmidt has assumed the role of financier and defense tech advisor. 

Volya Robotics is a holding company of the US company White Stork. Earlier, White Stork was operated by the name Swift Beat Holdings. It is developing attack drones that use artificial intelligence. The drones will be capable of operating independently where communication and GPS have been jammed by using AI vision to track targets. According to Forbes, the name White Stork is currently used by the US charity that delivers the first AID to Ukrainian fighters.

Eric Schmidt was the CEO and Сhairman of Google from 2001 to 2011. Till 2015 he served as an executive Chairman of Google. He also formerly worked as a Chair of the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence.
