Metaplanet has invested in Vortexa
The Estonian investment firm Metaplanet has invested in the England real-time data and analytics platform for energy and freight industries Vortexa. The startup has raised $34M in Series C funding. The latest round was conducted by investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital. It was also attended by existing investors Notion Capital, Monashees, FJ Labs, and Communitas Capital.
The investments received will be used to further accelerate Vortexa's international expansion, introduce modern technologies, and provide service to its customers and partners. Vortexa uses AI to provide real-time data and advanced analytics for energy and freight markets covering the crude oil, refined products, LPG, and LNG markets, across all vessel classes.
The company was founded in 2016 by Etienne Amic and Fabio Kuhn. It has more than 120 employees. Vortexa has raised more than $60M since its inception.
