LongeVC invests in Croatian biotech startup Ani Biome
Latvian LongeVC has invested in Zagreb-based biotech startup Ani Biome. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
Founded in 2019 by Nika Pintar and Bruno Balen, Ani Biome is a subscription-based platform for customers looking to improve gut inflammation. The startup has developed the personalized fermented product AgeBiotics, which contains naturally derived molecules with high bioavailability of nutrients and can improve gut microbiome function. The startup is working to create more potent and precise molecules which will be designed through multi-layered machine-learning models based on quantum chemistry.
AniBiome also has an application that allows customers to receive a daily gut health scan. The company uses generative AI technology (called Vitalligence) to obtain tongue scans and a graph database to approximate emotional states.
LongeVC is a venture company with offices in Riga and Lugano (Switzerland). It was established in 2016 by Garri Zmudze, Sergey Jakimov, and Ilya Suharenko. A €35M fund backs startups at the early and seed stages across the US and Europe.
