Estonian maternity startup CARÁ Health raises €620K to expand into the German market
Tallinn-based maternity startup CARÁ Health has raised the €620K. The seed funding round was led by Estonian Tera Ventures, with participation from business angel Burak Büyükdemir (the founder of Turkish accelerator Etohum, Startup Istanbul, and Startup Turkey) through StartupIst Ventures.
Founded in 2022 by Carina Vantsi, Keiro Vantsi, and Anna Strubel, CARÁ Health has developed an application to provide women with support and guidance throughout their maternity journey, from pregnancy to postpartum.
CARÁ Health's app has a library of evidence-based information, curated product suggestions, targeted podcasts and masterclasses, and personalized support services encompassing prenatal care guidance, postpartum support, and expert advice on specific health concerns. It uses customer health data to provide later tailored recommendations and customize the entire pregnancy experience to their individual needs.
The startup has offices in Tallinn, Tartu, and Berlin, where women can get access to various health services such as gynecologist or nutritionist counseling, pregnancy yoga, midwife and doula services, and much more. The startup claims to have supported over 1K pregnancies in Estonia to date.
The company will use the investment to develop its product and technology offer and expand in the DACH region.
Tera Ventures is an international investment firm based in Estonia. The founding partners are Andrus Oks and Stanislav Ivanov. Tera Ventures invests €45M from its second fund in startups from the Baltics States, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and the Czech Republic.
