Startup Wise Guys invests in Italian Restworld and Spanish Lizcore

Estonian accelerator Startup Wise Guys has invested in Italian platform Restworld, which connects restaurants with potential employees, and Spanish indoor climbing athlete tracking startup Lizcore.

Restworld raised €1M in seed funding at a pre-money valuation of €4M. €650K was secured in equity and €350K in debt from UniCredit. Apart from Startup Wise Guys,  Day Ristoservice, Mia Rigo, Gabriele Borga, Mival Capital srl, Cavallo Consulting and Partners, NextUp, and Vittorio Somaschini participated in the round. 

Founded in Turin in 2020 by Luca Lotterio, Lorenzo D'Angeloa, Davide Lombardi, and Edoardo Conte, Restworld has developed a platform that allows restaurants to connect with potential employees in the hospitality sector. AI technology helps analyze candidates' biodata to find the best matches for job openings. The goal of the platform is to save business owners time in the hiring process. The startup is used by 800 entrepreneurs in Italy and has already assisted more than 2K people find jobs. 

Restworld will use the investment to develop a new version of the platform to serve different types of companies from independent trattorias to large restaurant chains.

Indoor climbing tracking startup Lizcore received €600K in a pre-seed round. Apart from Startup Wise Guys, several investors and business angels participated in the round. The investment included state support in the form of an interest-free loan of €200K and some grants.

Founded in Barcelona in 2022 by Edgar Casanovas Lorente and Marçal Juan Llaó, Lizcore has developed an indoor athlete tracking application for climbing gyms, route setters, and climbers. The startup helps gyms improve their services and performance by recording activities on each route or group of routes. It also motivates users with weekly challenges, rankings by levels, and configurable cups with gifts. Climbers get access to a list of active routes and blocks, information on the style of each route, and personalized grades based on climbers' morphology.

The investment will help to commercialize the company’s hardware, which is a network of sensors designed to record and manage all the necessary information in climbing gyms.

Launched in 2012, Estonian Startup Wise Guys is an accelerator that invests in early-stage startups from the Baltic, Central European, and African regions. Startup Wise Guys typically invests up to €500K per startup through multiple funds that manage €45M and are backed by more than 150 investors. The CEO of Startup Wise Guys is Cristobal Alonso.
