Estonian Icebreaker.vc invests in Swedish medtech startup Cytely

Estonian Icebreaker.vc participated in a €3M seed round for Swedish startup Cytely, led by Ugly Duckling Ventures.

Cytely is a deeptech startup focused on accelerating discovery to unlock human biology and cure all preventable disease. The company's smart-microscopy platform turns images into data, quantifying thousands of cells per run, automating acquisition, and standardizing analysis so researchers can discover and iterate faster. Built with transparent methods and a modern web interface, Cytely powers the shift to data-centric workflows and works with any modern microscope. The company was founded in 2023 in Lund, Sweden. Founders: Philip Nordenfelt (CEO), Johannes Kumra Ahnlide (CTO), Oscar André (CPO) & Pontus Nordenfelt (CSO - Chief Scientific Officer).

The new funding will enable Cytely to accelerate scientific discoveries by making intelligent microscopy accessible to any laboratory.
